Deputies close section of Highway 280 after wreck
BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC)- The Shelby County Sheriff's Department says a portion of Highway 280 had to be closed after a wreck on Tuesday afternoon.
The wreck took place on 280 near the intersection of Highway 51. The westbound side of 280 is closed between Highway 55 and Highway 51 while deputies investigate.
Westbound motorists are encouraged to take Highway 55 north to Old Highway 280 into Chelsea.
The Sheriff's Office says they will send out a notification when the roadway has been reopened.
